Installation

To install the True-VDB addon in Blender: Open Edit > Preferences > "Install Addon", choose downloaded BASE file. Enable the addon, install the 7zip engine, and restart Blender. Check and, if necessary, change the content storage path.

Install VDB Packs

To install True-VDB, click "Import VDB Pack" to install content packs, ranging from 10 to 175+GB. Don't unzip files or close Blender during installation, it may cause errors or data corruption. Monitor progress in user preferences.

Using The Addon

Access the True-VDB addon under the True-VFX tab in the N panel. Click the icon to view assets and "ADD VDB VOLUME" to insert assets into your scene. Use the BASE empty object to move assets, which are in real-world scale. Adjust animation start frame in the volume panel.

Preferences

True-VDB addon preferences offer asset settings for location, linking, and initial placement. You can edit VDB settings, including name, category, and material, and customize material properties. 'Show Packs' details installed VDB packs.
